CleenU product solution
Air Conditioner Coil Cleaner
No-rinse foam · Condensate rinse · Private label
Musty blast when the AC turns on, and weaker airflow? Power off, pull the filter, foam the coil, wait 10–15 minutes, and run cooling so condensate carries the grime out. Aluminum-safe, factory-direct private label.
- Evaporator fins sit a millimeter or two apart and stay wet while cooling, so airborne dust and kitchen grease stick and build into a film. It narrows the airflow path and, once the unit shuts off, gives off odor in the damp coil. A new filter only stops new dust; the film already on the fins needs a cleaner.
- The foam clings to the fins while surfactants work into the gaps and loosen the film. Then you run cooling, and the condensate that keeps forming on the coil runs down the fins, carrying the loosened grime into the drain pan and out the drain line. No disassembly, no hose, and most homeowners can do it themselves.

Before & after
Before and after (illustration)
Before: with the filter off, the evaporator fins are coated in gray-black grime, the AC smells musty, and airflow is weak. After: foamed, left to dwell, and run on cooling for 20–30 minutes, dark water drains out, the fins look brighter, and the musty smell is noticeably weaker.
- Before: gray-black fins, musty smell
- During cooling: dark water from the drain
- After: brighter fins, much less odor

How it works
How the fin film gets carried away
Fin grime is dust bound together by cooking oil and moisture. Nonionic and amphoteric surfactants lower surface tension, work into the gaps, and emulsify the film, while mild alkaline builders loosen stuck particles. The aluminum inhibitor protects the metal so fins don't turn chalky. Once cooling starts, steady condensate flushes the emulsified grime into the drain pan.
- Power off, remove filter
- Foam clings and penetrates
- Emulsifies dust and oil film
- Run cooling 20–30 minutes
- Condensate carries it away

Usage guidance
Use guidance
- Power off and remove the filter; cover the control side with a plastic bag or towel.
- Shake, then foam the fins top to bottom from about 4 inches and wait 10–15 minutes.
- Reinstall the filter and run cooling for 20–30 minutes; dirty water drains out. Rinse the filter separately and let it dry.

Where Air Conditioner Coil Cleaner stands out
The musty smell is a film on the fins
Evaporator fins sit a millimeter or two apart and stay wet while cooling, so airborne dust and kitchen grease stick and build into a film. It narrows the airflow path and, once the unit shuts off, gives off odor in the damp coil. A new filter only stops new dust; the film already on the fins needs a cleaner.
No disassembly, condensate does the rinse
The foam clings to the fins while surfactants work into the gaps and loosen the film. Then you run cooling, and the condensate that keeps forming on the coil runs down the fins, carrying the loosened grime into the drain pan and out the drain line. No disassembly, no hose, and most homeowners can do it themselves.

Why choose CleenU for Air Conditioner Coil Cleaner?
From product positioning and samples to packaging and repeat supply, CleenU supports OEM/ODM projects built around Air Conditioner Coil Cleaner.
Alkalinity tuned for aluminum
Aluminum can't take strong alkali, so we balance cleaning power against corrosion protection to keep fins from whitening.
Adjustable foam cling
Foam that's too thin runs off and too thick won't penetrate; we tune texture and dwell time for your target units.
Sample testing that means something
We plan sample evaluation around wall units your customers have used for a year or more: foam cling, drain water color, air temperature and odor change, and any fin whitening.
Labels and documents ready
Bilingual label copy, SDS/MSDS, TDS, and batch COAs, with warnings and directions prepared for your target market.
Consistent reorders
Every batch is retained and issued a COA, so reorders match on color, scent, and feel.

Product, use, and procurement
Why does my AC smell musty when it turns on?
The evaporator coil stays wet while cooling, dust and grease stick to it, and the damp film gives off odor once the unit shuts off. A new filter won't fix it; the fins need cleaning.
Does no-rinse cleaning actually work?
For routine care, yes. The foam handles the dust and grease film in the fins, which drives most odor and airflow loss. If the blower wheel is caked black after years without cleaning, have a technician clean it.
Will it corrode aluminum fins?
No. It's mildly alkaline with an aluminum inhibitor, made for fins. Strong alkaline kitchen degreasers are what turn aluminum chalky, so keep those off your AC.
What should we decide first for a private-label AC coil cleaner?
Three things: foaming trigger or aerosol (triggers ship with fewer restrictions), fresh, citrus, or unscented, and whether to bundle a fin comb and drip cover. Stock up two to three months before summer.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
Is AC coil cleaner worth it, or is changing the filter enough?
Clean the coil if the musty smell comes back after a new filter. The filter catches dust before it reaches the coil, but the odor usually comes from the damp film already stuck to the fins, and a new filter doesn't touch that. A coil cleaning each season keeps the smell down and helps airflow.
Product usage questions
Do I need to rinse it off?
No. Run cooling, and condensate runs down the fins, carries the grime into the drain pan, and out the drain line.
Dark water came out of the drain line. Is that normal?
Yes, that's the dust and grease coming out. If nothing comes out of the line and the indoor unit drips instead, the drain is clogged; clear it first.
Where shouldn't I spray?
Circuit boards, motors, displays, and wiring. Cover the control side with a plastic bag or towel and aim only at the fins.
How often should I clean the coil?
Before and after each cooling season for most homes. With pets, a nearby kitchen, or year-round use, every two to three months.
Can I use it on the outdoor unit?
It's made for the indoor evaporator. The outdoor condenser collects yard dust and debris, which a hose rinse or an outdoor condenser cleaner handles better.
Can I use it on a car's AC?
No. It's for indoor coils of home split and wall units; use a dedicated automotive AC cleaner in cars.
How soon can I run the AC after spraying?
Let it sit 10–15 minutes, then run cooling for 20–30 minutes so condensate flushes the grime out.
How do I clean indoor AC coils without taking the unit apart?
Power off, cover the electronics, foam the coil, and let the AC rinse it. Unplug the unit, pull the filter, and cover the control board and display with a plastic bag. Spray CleenU Air Conditioner Coil Cleaner evenly along the fins, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then run cooling for 20 to 30 minutes so condensate carries the grime to the drain pan. Heavy buildup on the blower wheel needs a technician.
Can I use it on central air or a window unit?
It's made for the indoor coil of ductless mini-splits and wall units; for central air, have an HVAC technician clean the evaporator coil. Central coils sit inside the air handler, where covering wiring and confirming the drain line is clear is hard to do yourself. For a window unit, check the owner's manual first and make sure the drain path is clear before using any foam cleaner.
OEM/ODM customization questions
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (500 mL foaming spray, 1 L refill, and more), trigger type, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with a fin comb and drip cover.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on wall units that are at least a year old and smell musty, and record foam cling time, drain water color, air temperature and odor before and after, and whether the fins turn chalky. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. We send them per project when you inquire.
Launching your own AC coil cleaner?
Send us your market, trigger or aerosol preference, scent, and estimated volume. We'll work through formula and safety copy with you. Stock up two to three months before summer.
