CleenU product solution
Fishing Gear Cleaner
Removes salt, fights corrosion · Protects guides and reels · Private label
White salt crust on the rod and guides after a saltwater trip, a gritty reel, and a fishy tackle box? Rinse with fresh water, spray, brush the guides and reel crevices with a soft brush, dry with a towel, let air-dry, and oil the moving parts per the reel manual. Factory-direct private label.
- Salt crystals left by evaporating seawater lodge in guides, line rollers, and reel seams, then draw moisture and corrode metal. Corroded guides fray line, and reels turn gritty or seize, while scales, slime, and sweat make boxes and grips stink. This cleaner washes away salt, slime, and sweat, with inhibitors and rust preventives to protect metal. Clean the same day for the easiest job.
- Reels hold bearings, drag washers, and grease, and soaking them or spraying inside washes out grease and wets the drag. Spray only the housing and spool, brush the seams, towel-dry, air-dry somewhere ventilated, and oil moving parts per the manual; leave internal service to a pro.

Before & after
Before and after (illustration)
Before: a graphite rod and spinning reel after a day of inshore lure fishing, with white salt on the guides and housing, a gritty-sounding reel, and a fishy tackle box. After: rinsed, sprayed, brushed, dried, and oiled, the salt is gone, the reel turns smoothly, and the smell is gone.
- Before: salt crust, gritty reel, fishy box
- Rinsed, sprayed, brushed, dried, oiled
- Salt gone, smooth reel, no smell

How it works
How salt and fish smell come off
Saltwater residue is sodium and magnesium chloride crystals, fish slime protein, scales, and grit. Fresh water and nonionic surfactants dissolve the salt, emulsify slime and sweat, and carry off grit and scales; inhibitors adsorb onto stainless and aluminum, and rust preventives leave a thin protective film after drying to reduce pitting from leftover moisture and chloride.
- Rinse with fresh water
- Spray the gear
- Brush guides and seams
- Dissolve salt, emulsify slime
- Dry and oil

Where Fishing Gear Cleaner stands out
Why one skipped wash causes trouble
Salt crystals left by evaporating seawater lodge in guides, line rollers, and reel seams, then draw moisture and corrode metal. Corroded guides fray line, and reels turn gritty or seize, while scales, slime, and sweat make boxes and grips stink. This cleaner washes away salt, slime, and sweat, with inhibitors and rust preventives to protect metal. Clean the same day for the easiest job.
Never submerge a reel
Reels hold bearings, drag washers, and grease, and soaking them or spraying inside washes out grease and wets the drag. Spray only the housing and spool, brush the seams, towel-dry, air-dry somewhere ventilated, and oil moving parts per the manual; leave internal service to a pro.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Fishing Gear Cleaner, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
Product, use, and procurement
Do I really need to clean gear after saltwater fishing?
Yes. Dried salt corrodes guides and reels, so clean it the same day if you can.
Can I soak a reel in water?
No. Water gets into bearings and the drag and washes out lubricant. Spray and wipe the housing, and service the inside per the manual.
How fast can we get samples and a first order?
Free samples ship in 3–5 days. MOQ is 500 bottles, and production is scheduled once packaging and labels are approved.
Product usage questions
How do I use it?
Rinse lightly with fresh water after a trip, spray, scrub guides and reel crevices with a soft brush, dry with a cloth, and oil moving parts per the reel manual.
When shouldn't I use it?
Never submerge a reel, and keep spray out of bearings and drag washers.
Do I need it for freshwater fishing?
Yes. Freshwater gear still collects grit, slime, and sweat, just less salt.
Can I use it on fishing line?
No. Use a dedicated line conditioner.
Can I clean lures?
Metal lures, yes: spray, wash, and dry; rinse soft plastics with water.
How often should I use it?
After every saltwater trip; every 2–3 freshwater trips or when visibly dirty.
What about rusty tackle box hinges and latches?
After cleaning and drying, add a drop of rust-preventive oil.
Can I wash keep nets and landing nets?
Yes. Spray, rinse with fresh water, and air-dry.
Does ice fishing gear need cleaning?
Yes. Clean and dry it at home after ice and meltwater exposure.
Can I use it on boat rod holders?
Yes. Spray, wipe, and dry stainless rod holders.
Can I use it as a reel cleaning spray?
Yes, on the reel housing. Spray, scrub crevices with a soft brush, and wipe dry—but keep spray out of bearings and drag washers, and never submerge the reel. Re-oil moving parts per the reel manual after cleaning.
Does it disinfect fishing gear?
No. CleenU Fishing Gear Cleaner is a cleaner, not a disinfectant. It's for washing off salt, grit, slime, and sweat; if a fishery or local agency requires gear decontamination, follow their instructions.
