Moss Stain Remover
Browns moss · Brush or let it fall · Private label
Thick moss on shady steps, joints, and walls that turns slippery after rain? On a day with no rain for 24 hours, soak it; brush and rinse after 30 minutes, or leave it 1–2 weeks and sweep it off once it browns. Private label from 500 bottles.
- Moss has no true roots, but fine rhizoids grip the pores and joints of masonry and hold moisture. Pressure washing removes the green top, but rhizoids and spores stay in the pores and regrow in the next damp season, and the blast washes joint sand out to make room for more. This remover soaks into the moss and rhizoids so the whole plant dehydrates and withers, loses its grip, and comes away, and regrowth is much slower.
- For areas you need now, like entry steps, soak the moss, wait 30 minutes, brush it off, and rinse. For large, less urgent areas such as walls, eaves, and garden corners, soak it and walk away; in 1 to 2 weeks the moss turns yellow-brown and wind, rain, and a broom carry it off. Apply in dry weather with no rain for 24 hours for best results.

Before & after
Before and after (use illustration)
Before: shady stone steps are covered with a thick layer of green moss that’s slippery after rain. After: soaked, left 30 minutes until yellowing, brushed, and rinsed, the stone shows its original color with no green left in the joints.
- Before: thick green moss on shady stone steps, slick after rain
- After: the stone’s own color, with no green in the joints
- Once soaked, moss yellows and brushes or falls away

How it works
How Moss Withers and Lets Go
Moss and green algae cells rely on membranes to hold water. Quaternary-ammonium-type surfactants in the formula bind to and disrupt those membranes, so water and cell contents leak, chlorophyll breaks down, and the moss goes from green to yellow to brown; the alkaline system speeds this and helps it reach the rhizoids. Withered moss can’t hold moisture, its grip on masonry weakens, and brushing or weather removes it.
- Penetrates moss and rhizoids
- Disrupts cell membranes
- Dehydrates and discolors
- Loses grip
- Brushes or weathers off

Where Moss Stain Remover stands out
Why Moss Keeps Coming Back After Washing
Moss has no true roots, but fine rhizoids grip the pores and joints of masonry and hold moisture.
Two Ways: Brush Now or Let It Wither
For areas you need now, like entry steps, soak the moss, wait 30 minutes, brush it off, and rinse. For large, less urgent areas such as walls, eaves, and garden corners, soak it and walk away; in 1 to 2 weeks the moss turns yellow-brown and wind, rain, and a broom carry it off. Apply in dry weather with no rain for 24 hours for best results.

How to use
How long until moss dies?
It starts yellowing within about 30 minutes and fully withers in 1 to 2 weeks, faster in warm, dry weather and slower in cold, damp conditions.
Do I need to brush it off?
Depends on the spot. Brush steps you’ll use right away after 30 minutes; on walls and corners, let it wither and weather or sweep off.
Can I use it on moss in my lawn?
No; it damages grass. Use a lawn-specific moss treatment.
What's the fastest way to get rid of moss on steps and paths?
Spray it thoroughly, wait 30 minutes, scrub with a stiff brush, and rinse with clean water. A pressure washer only blasts off the green top growth; the rhizoids stay anchored in the pores of brick and stone, the joint sand washes out, and the moss comes back. Loosening the moss first lets you brush it out and slows regrowth. Apply on a dry day with no rain expected for 24 hours.
Do I use it full strength on a large patio or paver area?
No. For large areas, dilute it 1:3 with water and apply it with a pump sprayer. Where nobody needs to walk right away, you can skip the brushing: spray thoroughly and the moss turns yellow-brown over 1 to 2 weeks, then sweep it off. Keep the spray away from lawns, flower beds, and vegetable gardens.
How do I get moss off an exterior brick or stone wall?
Soak the moss with spray and let it wither; on walls you don't need to scrub. Over 1 to 2 weeks it browns and loses its grip, and rain and a stiff broom take it off. Treat the wall base and joints too, since moss anchors there first. Pick a dry spell and keep the spray off shrubs and plants along the wall.
Surfaces and common questions
Can I spray before rain?
Not recommended; rain within 24 hours washes it away. Pick a dry spell.
How do I use it around pets and plants?
Keep the spray off plants, soil, and any pond or water feature, keep pets and children away until the surface is fully dry, and store the bottle capped out of their reach.
How often should I treat?
Usually spring and autumn. In shady, damp spots, treat as soon as green appears while there’s little to clear.
How soon can kids and pets walk on it?
Wait until the treated area is fully dry—usually a few hours on a sunny day, sooner once it’s been brushed and rinsed. Keep pets from licking or lying on it while it’s wet.
Can I use it on roofs or wooden fences?
Wood fences, yes—spot-test first to avoid discoloration. For roof tiles, use a dedicated roof moss remover and have a professional handle work at height.
How long before moss grows back?
It depends on shade and moisture, but usually at least a season. Improve drainage, trim back shade, and treat in spring and fall, and it rarely returns in thick patches.
Buying and private label
What should we decide first for a private-label moss stain remover?
Three things: ready-to-use spray or concentrate for large areas, home-and-garden retail or property and landscaping, and your market’s registration and claim rules for moss and algae actives. Claim moss and green-growth removal and check biocide rules by market.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (500 mL spray, 1 L refill, and more), mist or foam trigger, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with a stiff brush and pump sprayer.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on mossy brick and slab samples like the ones your customers handle, and record withering speed, ease of removal, and time to regrowth. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. They aren’t posted publicly; we send them per project on inquiry.
How is private-label pricing quoted?
Pricing is tiered by packaging, trigger or cap, label, and order quantity, starting at the 500-bottle MOQ. Send your target quantity, fill size, and packaging needs, and we’ll quote unit prices by volume tier with sample and lead-time details.
Launching your own Moss Stain Remover?
