CleenU product solution
Glass Water Repellent
Hydrophobic coating · Rain and water bead off · Private label
Windshield sheeting with water in the rain even after the wipers pass, and shower doors always covered in spots? Clean the glass, apply in circles, wait 5–10 minutes until it hazes, and buff clear, and rain and water bead up and roll off. Factory-direct private label.
- Clean glass is hydrophilic, so rain spreads into a sheet that distorts light and blurs your view, and in the bathroom that sheet dries into mineral spots that keep building. This repellent bonds an alkyl silane to the glass, raising water's contact angle so rain and shower water bead up and roll off; at speed, rain blows right off the windshield, and shower glass collects less scale.
- Clean the glass thoroughly to remove road film, old wax, and scale, and dry it, or the coating won't bond evenly. Buff once it hazes; rainbow streaks mean it's uneven, so buff again. Keep it dry for 24 hours to cure. On cars, use it only on exterior glass, use anti-fog inside, and replace worn wiper blades that chatter.

Before & after
Before and after (illustration)
Before: an SUV windshield that keeps a film of water after each wiper pass in the rain, blurry under oncoming headlights at night. After: cleaned of road film, dried, coated in circles, buffed clear once hazed, and cured 24 hours, rain beads and rolls off and blows away at speed.
- Before: water film, blurry at night
- Film removed, coated, buffed, cured 24 hours
- Rain beads off, clear view

How it works
How the hydrophobic film forms
Glass is covered in hydroxyl groups (Si–OH) that make it strongly hydrophilic. One end of the alkyl silane molecule is a hydrolyzable silane that condenses with those hydroxyls into durable Si–O–Si bonds; the other is a low-surface-energy long alkyl chain facing outward, sharply raising water's contact angle so droplets ball up and roll off, taking dust with them.
- Clean off all film
- Dry
- Apply in circles
- Buff clear once hazed
- Keep dry 24 hours

Where Glass Water Repellent stands out
Why glass holds water
Clean glass is hydrophilic, so rain spreads into a sheet that distorts light and blurs your view, and in the bathroom that sheet dries into mineral spots that keep building. This repellent bonds an alkyl silane to the glass, raising water's contact angle so rain and shower water bead up and roll off; at speed, rain blows right off the windshield, and shower glass collects less scale.
Prep makes the difference
Clean the glass thoroughly to remove road film, old wax, and scale, and dry it, or the coating won't bond evenly. Buff once it hazes; rainbow streaks mean it's uneven, so buff again. Keep it dry for 24 hours to cure. On cars, use it only on exterior glass, use anti-fog inside, and replace worn wiper blades that chatter.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Glass Water Repellent, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
Product, use, and procurement
How long does it last?
About two to three months on a windshield (wipers shorten it), longer on side windows and mirrors, and one to two months on shower glass.
Why remove oily film first?
Film keeps the coating from bonding, so it wears off fast and streaks. Clean with a glass cleaner or film remover first.
How fast can we get samples and a first order?
Free samples ship in 3–5 days. MOQ is 500 bottles, and production is scheduled once packaging and labels are approved.
Product usage questions
How do I use it?
Clean the glass, remove any oily film, and dry it; apply a little in circles with the pad, wait 5–10 minutes until it hazes, buff clear with a dry cloth, and keep it dry for 24 hours.
When shouldn't I use it?
Use on exterior car glass only; rainbow streaks mean uneven application, so buff again with a dry cloth.
Can I use it on side mirrors?
Yes. You'll see behind you more clearly in the rain.
What if my wipers chatter afterward?
Usually worn blades or uneven coating; buff evenly first, then check the blades.
Can I use it on house windows?
Yes, on clean exterior glass, for fewer water marks after rain.
How soon can I shower after coating shower glass?
Let it cure 24 hours before it gets wet for longer-lasting results.
Can I use it on skylights?
Yes, on cleaned exterior glass, with care working up high.
How do I know when to reapply?
When water stops beading and starts sheeting again.
Can I use glass cleaner on coated glass?
Yes. A non-abrasive glass cleaner helps the coating last longer.
Can I use it on plastic windows?
Not recommended; skip plastic and acrylic.
What does a glass water repellent actually do?
It makes rain bead up and roll off the glass instead of sheeting across it, so your view through the windshield and mirrors stays clearer in the rain. Expect about two to three months on a windshield, since wipers wear it down faster. Reapply when water stops beading and starts sheeting again.
How do I make shower glass water repellent?
Clean the shower glass, remove any oily film, and dry it fully before you start. Apply a little in circles, wait 5–10 minutes until it hazes, then buff clear with a dry cloth. Keep the glass dry for 24 hours so the coating can cure; on shower glass it typically lasts one to two months.
