Windshield De-Icer
Melts frost fast · Frees wipers and mirrors · Private label
Frosted windshield and frozen wipers first thing in the morning? Spray top down; in 30 seconds to a minute the frost melts and the wipers or a plastic scraper clear it. Spray twice for thick ice. Works to about −25°C; private label from 500 bottles.
- Ice is water locked in a crystal. The alcohols in the de-icer mix with water in any ratio, and as they soak in they lower the freezing point so far that ice can’t stay solid even well below zero, turning it to liquid quickly. A little surfactant helps it spread and penetrate faster.
- Hot water on cold glass creates thermal stress that can crack a windshield, especially one with existing chips. Hard scraping scratches glass and damages wiper rubber. Spray, let the ice melt, and clear it gently with wipers or a plastic scraper.

Before & after
Before and after (use illustration)
Before: a car parked outside overnight has a windshield coated in white frost and frozen wipers. After: sprayed top-down, the frost melts within a minute and one wiper pass leaves clear glass.
- Before: white frost across the windshield and frozen wipers
- After: within a minute it melts and the wipers clear the glass
- Mirrors and side windows too—no hot water needed

How it works
How De-Icer Melts Ice
Glycols and isopropyl alcohol mix fully with water, and the mixture freezes far below 0°C. Sprayed on ice, the alcohol works between crystals and breaks the lattice so the ice can’t stay solid at that temperature and melts. The meltwater contains alcohol too, so it doesn’t refreeze right away and wipers or a scraper clear it easily.
- Alcohols soak into the ice
- Mix with water and lower the freezing point
- Ice lattice breaks down
- Meltwater wiped away

Usage guidance
Use guidance
- Spray evenly from the top of the windshield down, including wipers and mirrors.
- Wait 30 seconds to a minute for the ice to soften; spray again on thick ice.
- Clear with the wipers or a plastic scraper and top up if needed.

Where Windshield De-Icer stands out
Why Ice Melts on Contact
Ice is water locked in a crystal. The alcohols in the de-icer mix with water in any ratio, and as they soak in they lower the freezing point so far that ice can’t stay solid even well below zero, turning it to liquid quickly. A little surfactant helps it spread and penetrate faster.
Don’t Pour Hot Water or Scrape Hard
Hot water on cold glass creates thermal stress that can crack a windshield, especially one with existing chips. Hard scraping scratches glass and damages wiper rubber. Spray, let the ice melt, and clear it gently with wipers or a plastic scraper.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Windshield De-Icer, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
How to use
Can I pour hot water on the windshield?
Not recommended; the thermal shock can crack it, especially if it has chips.
How cold can it work?
Down to about −25°C; below that, apply more than once.
Will it damage paint?
Light overspray is fine; avoid soaking paint for long.
How do I use a windshield de-icer spray?
Spray it evenly over the iced glass, give it 30 seconds to a minute, then clear the slush with the wipers or a plastic scraper. The alcohol blend mixes into the ice and drops its freezing point, so the ice turns to slush. For thick ice, spray in two or three passes instead of scraping hard.
What's the fastest way to defrost a windshield?
Turn on the defroster and spray de-icer on the outside at the same time. The defroster is slow because it has to warm the whole pane first, while de-icer goes straight to the ice and loosens it in about 30 seconds to a minute. Skip hot water, which can crack cold glass, and skip hard scraping, which scratches.
Surfaces and common questions
Can I put it in the washer reservoir?
Not recommended; use antifreeze washer fluid.
Will it free a frozen lock?
It’s made for glass; use a lock de-icer for locks.
Any precautions?
It’s flammable; keep away from flames and out of reach of children and pets.
Can I spray it the night before to prevent frost?
It helps. A light coat on dry glass in the evening means thinner, easier frost in the morning—less so on rainy or snowy nights.
Can I use it for fog or frost on the inside of the windows?
Don’t spray inside the car. Use the defroster and heat and crack a window for interior fog; this is for exterior glass only.
What packaging suits fleets and parking lots in winter?
Retail drivers do well with a spray bottle that has a scraper cap. Fleets, rental companies, and parking operators should choose bulk drums with a pump sprayer to clear many vehicles quickly.
Is windshield de-icer the same as washer fluid?
No. This de-icer is a ready-to-use spray you apply directly to ice on the glass, wipers, and mirrors. Winter washer fluid is made to sit in the reservoir and run through the washer jets, so keep antifreeze washer fluid in the tank and don't pour this spray in.
Buying and private label
What should we decide first for a private-label windshield de-icer?
Three things: trigger or aerosol, whether to add a scraper cap, and your market’s freezing-point target and flammable shipping labels. It’s highly seasonal, so stock before autumn.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (500 mL spray, 1 L refill, and more), mist or foam trigger, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with an ice scraper.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on iced glass panels in a cold chamber like the ones your customers handle, and record melt speed, low-temperature performance, and effect on paint and rubber. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. They aren’t posted publicly; we send them per project on inquiry.
How is private-label pricing quoted?
Pricing is tiered by packaging, trigger or cap, label, and order quantity, starting at the 500-bottle MOQ. Send your target quantity, fill size, and packaging needs, and we’ll quote unit prices by volume tier with sample and lead-time details.
Launching your own Windshield De-Icer?
Send us your market, format, freezing-point target, and estimated volume. We will plan around the winter season with you.
