RV Black Streak Remover
Removes black streaks · Gelcoat-safe · Private label
Black streaks running down white RV sides from the windows and roof edge? Spray, wait 30 seconds to a minute, sponge, and rinse for white, glossy panels again. Dilute 1:10 for a full wash; also for awnings and boat hulls. Private label from 500 bottles.
- Roof sealant and rubber trim slowly break down in the sun and release black, oily residue that mixes with exhaust and soot; rain carries it down the siding, where it dries firmly onto the gelcoat. Mild car wash soap only removes loose dust. The alkali and surfactants in this cleaner emulsify the oily binder so the carbon lets go and wipes off.
- Washing in the sun dries the cleaner into water spots. Pick a shady time, spray and wipe spot streaks directly, and for the whole vehicle mix 1:10 and brush from the top down with a long-handled soft brush, rinsing each side right away and drying with a soft cloth or squeegee. Extend the awning to spray and brush it, rinse, and let it dry fully before rolling it up so it doesn’t mildew.

Before & after
Before and after (use illustration)
Before: black streaks run down the white fiberglass siding from the window corners and roof edge. After: sprayed, left a minute, sponged, and rinsed, the streaks are gone and the siding is white and glossy again.
- Before: black streaks down white fiberglass from the windows and roofline
- After: streaks gone, white glossy panels again
- Work in the shade and rinse—the gelcoat keeps its shine

How it works
How Black Streaks Wipe Away
Streaks are oily breakdown products from sealant and rubber, exhaust carbon, and dust. Alkaline builders react with some esters and acidic breakdown products, surfactants and a little solvent emulsify and dissolve the oily binder, and the carbon particles lose their grip and disperse for a cloth or sponge to lift. A rinse leaves the gelcoat free of residue.
- Alkali penetrates the oily binder
- Surfactants emulsify
- Carbon loses its grip
- Cloth lifts
- Water rinses

Where RV Black Streak Remover stands out
Black Streaks Are Oily, So Car Wash Soap Won’t Cut Them

Mild car wash soap only removes loose dust. The alkali and surfactants in this cleaner emulsify the oily binder so the carbon lets go and wipes off.
Work in the Shade, Top Down, Rinse and Dry
Washing in the sun dries the cleaner into water spots. Pick a shady time, spray and wipe spot streaks directly, and for the whole vehicle mix 1:10 and brush from the top down with a long-handled soft brush, rinsing each side right away and drying with a soft cloth or squeegee. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about RV Black Streak Remover, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
How to use
What are the black streaks on my RV?
Mostly oily residue from aging roof sealant and rubber trim, mixed with exhaust soot and washed down by rain.
Will it harm the gelcoat?
No. It’s gentle on gelcoat and has no abrasives; just rinse after.
Is it OK on aluminum siding?
Yes, with an aluminum inhibitor. Avoid heat and rinse promptly.
Can I wash my RV with Dawn dish soap?
Once in a while, but not as a habit. Dish soap is made to cut grease on dishes, so it strips wax from the finish, and it doesn't do much on the black streaks left by aging sealant. Spray this directly on the streaks, wipe after 30 seconds to a minute, and for a full wash dilute 1:10, scrub, and rinse with clean water.
Surfaces and common questions
How do I stop streaks coming back?
Check and renew aging roof sealant, and add gutter spout extenders to direct runoff away from the sides.
Can I wash the awning?
Yes. Extend it, spray or brush at 1:10, rinse, and dry fully before rolling it up.
Can I use it on a boat?
Yes, on fiberglass above the waterline. Algae and barnacles below the waterline need a dedicated hull cleaner.
There are water spots after washing.
Wash in the shade, rinse section by section, and dry right away with a microfiber towel or chamois—spots are hard-water minerals drying on the surface.
Can I scrub the roof too?
Fiberglass or aluminum roofs, yes—dilute 1:10 and use a long-handled brush. Check the manufacturer’s guidance before using on rubber (EPDM/TPO) roofs, and use fall protection up top.
Is it suited to RV parks and rental fleets?
Yes. At return, spot-spray the streaks, then do a diluted full wash—fast and efficient. Bulk concentrate with a long brush and hose keeps per-vehicle cost low.
Can I use it to clean my RV black tank?
No. It's for the outside of the RV only: fiberglass sidewalls, aluminum siding, and awnings. Black tanks need a dedicated tank treatment and flush routine. Don't pour this into the black or gray tank or down the toilet.
Should I wax after washing?
Yes. Once the streaks are gone and the RV is rinsed and dry, put a coat of RV wax or protectant on the gelcoat. A slicker surface gives black streaks and road film less to grab, so the next wash goes faster. Wax in the shade, not on a hot body panel.
Buying and private label
What should we decide first for a private-label rv black streak remover?
Three things: RV or marine channel (the North American RV market is huge), spray or concentrate, and whether to bundle with a long-handled brush and awning cleaning as an RV exterior kit.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (500 mL spray, 1 L refill, and more), mist or foam trigger, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with a long-handled soft brush.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on gelcoat and aluminum panels with black streaks like the ones your customers handle, and record streak removal, effect on gelcoat gloss and decals, and spotting after rinsing. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. They aren’t posted publicly; we send them per project on inquiry.
How is private-label pricing quoted?
Pricing is tiered by packaging, trigger or cap, label, and order quantity, starting at the 500-bottle MOQ. Send your target quantity, fill size, and packaging needs, and we’ll quote unit prices by volume tier with sample and lead-time details.
