Grout Cleaner
Penetrates grout · Oxygen brightening · Private label
Grout lines gone grey, with dark, yellowed joints near the floor and shower? Squeeze along the lines, wait 5–10 minutes, scrub with a grout brush, and rinse—the lines come up noticeably lighter and crisp. Oxygen brightening; private label from 500 bottles.
- Tile is glazed, dense, and non-absorbent; cement grout is full of capillary pores. Mop water and shower water carry soap scum, grease, and dust, some of which wicks into the grout. The water evaporates, the soil stays, and over time the line goes from white to grey, yellow, even black. That’s why the cloth that cleans the tile won’t clean the grout; you need a cleaner that penetrates plus a grout brush.
- Grout soil is mostly soap scum, grease, and organic matter. The alkaline formula saponifies grease and disperses scum, while the oxygen component releases active oxygen in the grout to oxidize organic color and lighten yellowed lines. Give it 5 to 10 minutes to soak in, scrub back and forth with a grout brush to work soil out of the pores, and rinse it away. Black dots that are mold growing into the grout need a mold stain cleaner.

Before & after
Before and after (use illustration)
Before: the cement grout between white wall tiles is grey overall and dark yellow-black near the floor and shower. After: applied along the lines, left 8 minutes, brushed, and rinsed, the grout is much lighter and the lines look crisp against the tile.
- Before: grey grout between white tiles, dark and yellowed near the floor
- After: noticeably lighter lines with crisp contrast
- Scrubbed and rinsed into neat, even lines

How it works
How Soil Comes Out of Grout
Soil in grout pores includes calcium soaps (scum), grease, dust, and organic pigments. Alkaline builders saponify grease and disperse scum, oxygen sources such as percarbonate release active oxygen that breaks down the color-bearing structures of organic stains, and surfactants carry the solution into capillary pores and suspend soil. Grout-brush bristles reach into the joint to lift the loosened soil, and water or a damp cloth removes it.
- Nozzle on the line
- Alkali saponifies grease and disperses scum
- Active oxygen oxidizes organic color
- Grout brush lifts
- Water carries away

Where Grout Cleaner stands out
Grout Gets Dirtier Than Tile Because It Absorbs
Tile is glazed, dense, and non-absorbent; cement grout is full of capillary pores.
Alkaline for Grime, Oxygen for Brightness

The alkaline formula saponifies grease and disperses scum, while the oxygen component releases active oxygen in the grout to oxidize organic color and lighten yellowed lines. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Grout Cleaner, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
How to use
Is my dark grout mold or dirt?
Look at the pattern. Even grey or yellow that deepens near the floor is soap scum and grease: use this. Distinct black dots spreading from corners are mold: use a mold stain cleaner.
Can I use it on colored grout?
Test in a hidden spot first. The oxygen action can lighten dark or colored grout; epoxy holds up better than colored cement grout.
Will it make grout white as new?
Most soil lightens noticeably. Grout that is aged, stained through, chalky, or cracked will improve but may need regrouting to look new.
Can I clean grout without scrubbing?
Lightly grey grout, yes: squeeze it along the lines, wait 10 minutes, and rinse, and it comes up lighter. Grout that's gone dark or yellow with body oil and soap scum still needs a grout brush, a dozen strokes along each line; the cleaner loosens the grime so the brush can lift it out.
Surfaces and common questions
What brush works best?
A narrow, stiff grout brush that fits into the joint. Avoid wire brushes; they scratch the glaze and grout surface.
How do I keep it clean after?
After 24 hours of drying, apply a grout sealer to slow re-soiling, and squeegee the walls after showers.
Can I use it with bleach?
No. Don’t mix it with bleach or acidic cleaners or use them back to back; rinse thoroughly in between.
The grout is uneven after scrubbing.
Darker spots have deeper soil, and one round only brightens the surface. Reapply on those spots, wait the full 10 minutes, and scrub again—two rounds usually even it out.
Can I use it on greasy grout behind the stove?
Yes. Squeeze it along the lines, wait 10 minutes, scrub with a grout brush, and wipe with a damp cloth. For heavy grease, remove the surface film with a kitchen degreaser first, then do the grout.
Is floor grout handled the same way as wall grout?
Yes, though floor grout is dirtier from foot traffic—give it the full 10 minutes and use a stiffer grout brush. Squeegee after rinsing so dirty water doesn’t settle back into the lines.
Which is better for grout, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide or vinegar?
A baking soda and hydrogen peroxide paste can brighten light grout a little, but you mix it fresh each time and results vary. Vinegar is acidic and slowly erodes cement grout, leaving it rough and quicker to trap dirt. For routine cleaning, a dedicated grout cleaner is less work.
Can it remove the white grout haze left after tiling?
No. That haze is cement residue from the grout and needs an acidic post-construction haze remover, which must not be used on natural stone tile. This product cleans grout that has been in use and turned dirty or yellow.
Buying and private label
What should we decide first for a private-label grout cleaner?
Three things: a precision squeeze bottle, spray, or bottle with a built-in brush; whether to bundle with a grout brush; and an oxygen, chlorine-free formula with low odor or a separate fast-whitening chlorine version. Grout cleaning is a high-demand niche in ecommerce.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (200 mL squeeze bottle and more), precision nozzle or brush-head cap, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with a grout brush and sealer.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on tiled panels with soiled cement grout like the ones your customers handle, and record grout soil removal, brightening, and effect on colored grout and glaze. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. They aren’t posted publicly; we send them per project on inquiry.
How is private-label pricing quoted?
Pricing is tiered by packaging, cap type, label, and order quantity, starting at the 500-bottle MOQ. Send your target quantity, fill size, and packaging needs, and we’ll quote unit prices by volume tier with sample and lead-time details.
