CleenU product solution
Sportswear Odor Wash
Enzymes stop the re-stink · Works in cold water · Private label
Gym clothes smell fine out of the wash and stink again ten minutes into a workout? Add 1–1.4 oz per load, presoak strong odors at 1:50 for 30 minutes, and lipase breaks down the oil synthetic fabric traps. Factory-direct private label.
- Polyester and spandex attract oil, so the body oil in sweat clings to the fibers through a normal wash; add sweat and body heat and bacteria break that residue into odor again. This wash uses lipase on the trapped oil, protease on sweat protein, and odor neutralizers on what's left.
- Softener coats the fibers, clogs moisture-wicking fabric, and seals odor in, so activewear gets smellier over time. Wash without softener, presoak strong odors, and dry right away instead of leaving clothes in the washer or a gym bag.

Before & after
Before and after (illustration)
Before: a polyester performance tee worn many times that smells fine after washing but gets a strong underarm odor as soon as you sweat. After: presoaked 30 minutes at 1:50 and washed, the returning odor is clearly reduced during the next workout.
- Before: odor returns with sweat
- Presoaked 30 minutes, then washed
- Returning odor clearly reduced

How it works
How the re-stink gets removed
The odor comes from body oil (triglycerides, fatty acids) and sweat protein stuck to synthetic fibers, which skin bacteria break into short-chain fatty acids and sulfur compounds. Lipase hydrolyzes triglycerides into soluble pieces, protease breaks down sweat protein, nonionic surfactants lift oily soil off water-repellent fibers, and odor neutralizers handle leftover molecules.
- Presoak at 1:50 (strong odor)
- Lipase breaks down oil
- Protease breaks down sweat
- Wash as usual
- Dry promptly

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Sportswear Odor Wash, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
Product, use, and procurement
Why do my workout clothes still smell after washing?
Synthetic fibers attract oil, and the body oil in sweat clings to them through a normal wash. Add sweat and body heat and bacteria break that residue down into odor again. It takes enzymes that digest the oil to get it out.
Should I use fabric softener on activewear?
No. Softener coats the fibers, clogs moisture-wicking fabric, and seals odor in.
How fast can we get samples and a first order?
Free samples ship in 3–5 days. MOQ is 500 bottles, and production is scheduled once packaging and labels are approved.
Product usage questions
How do I use it?
Add 1–1.4 oz per load and wash cold or warm; for strong odor, presoak 30 minutes at 1:50 first.
When shouldn't I use it?
Not for wool or silk; skip fabric softener on activewear because it clogs moisture-wicking fabric.
Can I wash activewear with other clothes?
Yes, but it works best on its own, and it keeps cotton lint off performance fabric.
Will it fix smelly socks?
Yes. Turn them inside out, presoak 30 minutes at 1:50, then wash; foot oil breaks down and odor drops noticeably.
Does it cause pilling on yoga wear?
Pilling comes from friction. A mesh bag, gentle cycle, and washing inside out reduce it.
Is hot water better?
No. The enzymes work in cold or warm water, and hot water can weaken spandex.
Can I wash insoles with it?
Yes. Soak, scrub, rinse, and air-dry.
Can I use it on down athletic jackets?
Use Down Jacket Wash for down.
Does it work in cold water?
Yes. The formula breaks down sweat and oil in cold water too.
Can I hand-wash with it?
Yes. Soak 15 minutes in diluted solution, then knead and rinse.
How do I get the smell out of my sneakers?
Start with the insoles, since that's where most foot sweat and oil collect. Pull them out, soak them in diluted CleenU Sportswear Odor Wash, scrub, rinse, and air-dry. For the shoes themselves, follow the shoe maker's care label.
