Sportswear & Delicate Garment Wash Solution

Sportswear, swimwear, wool and silk, lingerie and down jackets should not go through the same wash as everyday laundry. Synthetic sportswear locks body oil into the fiber and brings the odor back, swimwear has to deal with chlorine, salt and sunscreen, wool and silk dislike hot water and rubbing, lingerie loses elastic in heat, and down dislikes regular detergent and softener. CleenU separates these five washes by fabric, all built around cool water, gentle handling and thorough rinsing, and the factory also supports OEM/ODM private label for apparel brands, sports channels and laundry care brands.

Sportswear and Delicates: Choose the Wash by Fabric

For sportswear, use CleenU Sportswear Odor Wash at 1–1.4 oz per load in cold or warm water; for strong odor, presoak at 1:50 for 30 minutes, and skip fabric softener. For swimwear, rinse in cool water after swimming, then soak 3–5 minutes at about 5 mL per 2 L of cool water. For wool and silk, use about 10 mL per 4 L of water under 86°F, press-soak 5 minutes, and dry flat without rubbing or wringing. For lingerie, use about 5 mL per 2 L of water under 86°F and soak 5 minutes. For down jackets, use about 20 mL per 4 L of 86°F water, press-soak 10 minutes, then tumble dry low with tennis balls. Send dry-clean-only items out.

  • Soil Type: Body oil and odor in sportswear, chlorine, salt and sunscreen on swimwear, sweat on wool, silk and lingerie, and collar and cuff grime on down.
  • How It Works: Enzymes break down body oil and protein, neutralizers handle chlorine, mild surfactants lift salt and sweat, and a pH-neutral enzyme-free formula protects protein fibers.
  • How to Use: Sportswear 1–1.4 oz per load; swimwear 5 mL per 2 L; wool and silk 10 mL per 4 L; lingerie 5 mL per 2 L; down 20 mL per 4 L.
  • Fabrics: Synthetic activewear, nylon and spandex swimwear, wool, cashmere and silk, cotton, modal and lace lingerie, and duck and goose down.
  • Limits: Avoid hot water, bleach and tumble drying (except low-heat drying for down), skip softener on sportswear, and send dry-clean-only items out.

Where to Use It

Sportswear

Performance tees, leggings, yoga wear, sports bras, cycling kits and socks: remove sweat odor and the odor that keeps coming back.

Swimwear

Swimsuits, trunks, bikinis, rash guards, sun shirts and caps: rinse cool after swimming, then soak and clean.

Wool, Silk & Lingerie

Wool and cashmere sweaters, silk blouses, scarves, lace lingerie, bras and base layers, washed gently at low temperature.

Down

Down jackets, vests, comforters and sleeping bags (duck and goose down): treat collars and cuffs first, rinse thoroughly and dry low.

Spot-test natural stone, coated, and wood surfaces in a hidden area first.

When Not to Use It

  • Dry-clean-only garments: these products are not for them, so follow the care label and send them out.
  • Anyone using fabric softener on sportswear: softener clogs the moisture-wicking structure of performance fabric, and the odor wash should not be paired with it.
  • Hot water, bleach or tumble drying on swimwear, lingerie, wool and silk: heat and bleach damage elastic and protein fibers.
  • Anyone hoping one wash will suit every one of these fabrics: sportswear, wool and silk, lingerie and down each have a dedicated direction and should not be mixed.

Compare the Options

Five fabric groups compared by product, pH, dose, water temperature and wash points. Sportswear relies on an enzyme odor wash, swimwear on neutralizing chlorine with mild surfactants, wool and silk on a pH-neutral enzyme-free formula, lingerie on a mildly acidic gentle formula and down on a pH-neutral dedicated formula. All five use cold or low-temperature water, and none suits regular detergent or softener.

How to Use It

  1. Check the Label

Confirm the garment is washable; dry-clean-only items do not take these washes.

  2. Control Temperature

Use cold or under-86°F water, and do not tumble dry swimwear and lingerie.

  3. Handle Gently

Do not rub or wring wool, silk and swimwear; wash bras in a mesh bag on gentle.

  4. Rinse and Dry

Rinse until no suds remain and dry flat in the shade; dry down on low and fluff it, and skip softener on sportswear.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how to use it, which surfaces are safe, and private-label orders.

Use & Cleaning

My sportswear still smells after washing. What should I do?

Use the Sportswear Odor Wash at 1–1.4 oz per load. For strong odor, presoak at 1:50 for 30 minutes first, then wash. Dry promptly and do not leave damp clothes in the washer or a gym bag.

Why shouldn't I use fabric softener on sportswear?

Softener leaves a film on the fiber that clogs the moisture-wicking structure and makes body oil easier to hold on to. Wash sportswear in cold or warm water with the odor wash only.

How should I wash swimwear after swimming?

Rinse in cool water soon after swimming, soak 3–5 minutes at about 5 mL per 2 L of cool water, knead gently, rinse cool, press out water with a towel and dry flat in the shade. No hot water, bleach, tumble drying, wringing or direct sun.

What dose and temperature should I use for a wool sweater?

Use about 10 mL of the Wool & Silk Wash per 4 L of water under 86°F, press-soak 5 minutes, rinse cool and dry flat after pressing out water in a towel. Do not rub, wring or sun-dry; on a machine, use the wool or silk cycle.

Surfaces & Safety

Can I machine wash lingerie, and what about silk lingerie?

Put bras in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle; for hand washing, use about 5 mL of Lingerie Wash per 2 L of water under 86°F. Silk lingerie is not suitable for it, so use the Wool & Silk Wash instead. Avoid hot soaks and tumble drying to protect elastic fibers.

Can I wash a down jacket with regular detergent?

It is not recommended, and softener and bleach should also be avoided. Use the Down Jacket Wash at about 20 mL per 4 L of 86°F water, rinse thoroughly, tumble dry low with 2–3 tennis balls, and do not wring or sun-dry it.

Private Label & Sourcing

What should I prepare before asking about a private-label sportswear or wool wash?

Settle four things: whether it is sportswear, swimwear, wool and silk, lingerie or down; the target fabrics and wash scenes; fill size, measuring cap bottle and scent; and target market and label language. Then we'll arrange free samples, usually ready in 3–5 days.

What documents come with OEM fabric washes?

We provide SDS, TDS and batch COA, and prepare label copy for your target market. These documents aren't posted for download; we send them on request after you inquire.

What are the MOQ and lead time for these washes?

Standard projects start at 500 bottles. Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days, and production is scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
