CleenU product solution
Adhesive Residue Remover
Slow-evaporating · Softens aged glue · Private label
Years-old tape marks and protective-film glue gone hard and yellow on tile, glass, or door frames? Spray, wait 5–10 minutes, and it lifts in sheets with a plastic scraper. Slow-evaporating and deep-penetrating; private label from 500 bottles.
- After a few years of sun, heat, and air, the tackifying resin in tape adhesive oxidizes and the polymer keeps crosslinking. The glue goes from soft and tacky to hard, yellow, and crumbly, and ordinary solvents struggle to dissolve it quickly. This remover uses a slower-evaporating, deeper-penetrating solvent blend that stays wet long enough to soak through the whole aged layer and turn it back into a soft paste that a plastic scraper lifts.
- For a full sheet of glue left by protective film, tape lines on door frames, or floor-decal adhesive, work in sections of about 30 cm: wet, wait, scrape, then move on, so the solvent doesn't evaporate before it works. Finish each area with a damp cloth to carry off dissolved glue and solvent so nothing stays tacky.

Before & after
Before and after (use illustration)
Before: a yellowed, hardened tape line on tile with grey grime at the edges; a fingernail only chips crumbs. After: sprayed, left to soften, scraped with a plastic blade, and wiped with a damp cloth, the line is gone and the glaze is smooth again.
- Before: yellowed, hardened tape lines that only flake under a fingernail
- After: pushed off with a plastic scraper, the glaze is clean
- Work large areas section by section

How it works
How Aged Adhesive Softens
Aged adhesive has a hard, oxidized skin over polymer that is not fully crosslinked. The slow-evaporating solvent sits on the surface, works through the skin, and swells the layer underneath. Heavily crosslinked areas do not fully dissolve, but they expand, soften, and lose grip on the substrate. Once the layer turns to paste, a plastic scraper held at a low angle lifts it without scratching the surface.
- Penetrate
- Swell the crosslinked layer
- Soften
- Plastic-scraper lift
- Damp-cloth finish

Usage guidance
Use guidance
- Scrape off any loose glue and backing with a plastic scraper so the remover reaches the adhesive.
- Wet the residue and wait 5 minutes, up to 10 on very old or thick glue; re-spray once to keep it wet.
- Push off the softened glue with a plastic scraper held low, clean edges with a scouring pad, then wipe the surface with a damp cloth.

Why choose CleenU for Adhesive Residue Remover?
From product positioning and samples to packaging and repeat supply, CleenU supports OEM/ODM projects built around Adhesive Residue Remover.
Solvent strength matched to aged adhesive
Film glue, mounting tape, and floor-decal adhesive age differently, so evaporation rate and penetration must match. We start from your target glue and substrates.
Spray or gel for the surface
Spray covers large flat areas; gel stays on door frames and wall tile and keeps working longer. We make both.
Sample reviews with clear criteria
Review samples on your tile, glass, and metal panels with aged tape residue against clear points: softening time, whether glue lifts in sheets, and any scratching or hazing of the substrate.
Unscented or low-odor
For a heavy-duty solvent product, unscented or low-odor versions are better received indoors.
Labels and documents
We supply bilingual labels, SDS/MSDS, TDS, and batch COAs, with spot-test, keep-from-flames, and ventilation warnings on the label, and can arrange third-party testing for your market.
Consistent supply and reorders
Each batch is retained and ships with a COA, so reorders match in color, scent, and feel.

How to use
Why won't ordinary adhesive remover take off tape marks that are years old?
Old adhesive oxidizes and crosslinks into a hard, brittle layer. Ordinary removers evaporate before they soak through, so they only take the surface. This formula uses slow-evaporating solvents that stay wet long enough to soften the whole aged layer.
How long should it soak before I scrape?
Usually 5 minutes, up to 10 on very old glue. Try the scraper: if the glue lifts in sheets, it is ready; if it only chips, re-spray and wait a few more minutes.
Can I use a razor blade on tile and glass?
On glass, a glass scraper held flat is fine. On glazed tile and stainless steel, use a plastic scraper; a blade can scratch. Once the glue is soaked through, plastic is enough.
Is the residue remover toxic? What precautions should I take?
It uses slow-evaporating terpene and ester solvents that soak into old adhesive over a long dwell, so ventilation matters even more: open a window or run a fan, wear gloves, don't spray toward your face, keep it away from flames, and cap it out of reach of children and pets. Wipe away leftover solvent with a neutral cleaner afterward. Spot-test acrylic, PS plastic, car paint, and varnished furniture first; don't use it on wallpaper, latex-painted walls, fabric, or leather.
Surfaces and common questions
Can I use it on painted walls?
No. The solvent softens latex paint and you will lift paint with the glue. Warm wall-hook adhesive with a hair dryer and peel slowly, then rub off small spots with a dry cloth.
Can I use it on car windows?
Yes on the glass. Keep it off rubber seals and paint; if it runs onto them, wipe it off right away with a damp cloth.
What about the solvent smell afterward?
Ventilate for 10 to 15 minutes and it clears. Wiping the surface with a damp cloth removes leftover solvent so the smell fades faster.
It still won’t budge after 10 minutes. What should I do?
The adhesive is thick or fully aged. Score the surface a few times with a plastic scraper, spray again so it reaches the lower layer, cover with plastic wrap to slow evaporation, and wait another 10 minutes. Two rounds usually lift it in sheets.
Can I use it on protective-film glue left on aluminum window frames?
Yes on anodized or powder-coated frames—test a small corner first. Don’t let it sit on the rubber seals, and wipe the frame down with a damp cloth once the glue is off.
Can I use it on floor decal glue?
Yes on tile and quartz floors. Skip wood, laminate, and vinyl—solvent can seep into seams or whiten the finish. On tile, mop with a damp mop after scraping and let it dry before walking on it.
Can I use it on stainless steel and plastic?
Yes on stainless steel, glass, tile, and hard plastics like ABS and PP: spray, let it soak a few minutes, push the residue off with a plastic scraper or dry cloth, then wipe away the solvent with a damp cloth. Acrylic and clear PS plastic can cloud or crack under solvents, so don't use it there without a test spot. On stainless, finish with a dry cloth along the grain so no oily film is left.
Will vinegar, dish soap, or WD-40 remove sticky residue?
On fresh, soft adhesive, an oily product like WD-40 can lift some of it; vinegar and dish soap do very little to the glue itself. Old residue that has hardened over years needs a slow-evaporating solvent that keeps soaking in, which is what this is made for: let it work 5–10 minutes until the layer softens, then push it off in sheets.
Buying and private label
What should we decide first for a private-label adhesive residue remover?
Three things: renovation cleanup, household, or commercial use; spray or gel; and whether you need a low-odor version. Aged glue needs stronger solvents than a standard remover, so these set the formula and label warnings.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (500 mL spray, 1 L refill, and more), mist, foam, or gel format, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with a plastic scraper and scouring pads.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on tile, glass, and metal panels with aged tape residue like the ones your customers handle, and record softening time, whether glue lifts in sheets, and any scratching or hazing of the substrate. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. They aren’t posted publicly; we send them per project on inquiry.
How is private-label pricing quoted?
Pricing is tiered by packaging, trigger or cap, label, and order quantity, starting at the 500-bottle MOQ. Send your target quantity, fill size, and packaging needs, and we’ll quote unit prices by volume tier with sample and lead-time details.
Launching your own Adhesive Residue Remover?
Send us your market, the main use (renovation, move-out, or commercial), spray or gel, and estimated volume. We will work through solvent strength and label warnings with you.
