CleenU product solution
Beer Line Cleaner
Acid line cleaning · Dissolves beerstone and scale · Private label
White, gritty beerstone or mineral scale in your draft lines, and beer still tastes harsh after an alkaline clean? Dilute to 2%, fill the lines, let it sit 15–20 minutes, drain, and rinse until pH strips read neutral. Food-grade citric acid formula, factory-direct private label.
- Beer leaves yeast, protein, and sugar in the lines that build into biofilm and flaky deposits, which an alkaline line cleaner mainly removes. Calcium also combines with oxalate into beerstone, and water adds mineral scale, both of which alkaline cleaners don't dissolve well. This cleaner uses food-grade citric and organic acids to dissolve beerstone and scale and help rinse away residue, and runs low-foam through a cleaning pump.
- At pH 2.0–3.0 this is an acid cleaner, so wear acid-resistant gloves and goggles and keep the concentrate off skin and out of eyes. Keep it off aluminum, galvanized and other acid-sensitive metals and natural stone, and never mix it with alkaline or chlorine products; rinse with water between steps. Rinse until pH strips read neutral before reconnecting kegs.

Before & after
Before and after (illustration)
Before: a craft bar's draft line, cleaned routinely with an alkaline cleaner, still shows white, gritty beerstone in the clear section and pours harsh-tasting beer. After: following a rinsed alkaline clean, filled with 2% solution for 20 minutes, drained, and rinsed to neutral, the line walls carry less deposit and the taste is closer to normal.
- Before: white beerstone after alkaline clean
- 2% acid fill 20 minutes, rinsed to neutral
- Less deposit, better taste

How it works
How beerstone and scale dissolve
Beerstone is mainly calcium oxalate, often layered with calcium and magnesium carbonate scale on line walls, and it dissolves poorly under alkaline conditions. Citric and other organic acids convert these calcium and magnesium salts into soluble forms and bind the ions so they rinse out, while low-foam surfactants wet the line walls for full contact. Clean yeast, protein, and biofilm first with an alkaline cleaner, as a separate step.
- Alkaline clean and rinse first
- Dilute to 2%
- Fill lines with pump
- Wait 15–20 minutes
- Rinse to neutral pH

Where Beer Line Cleaner stands out
Why draft lines need an acid clean too
Beer leaves yeast, protein, and sugar in the lines that build into biofilm and flaky deposits, which an alkaline line cleaner mainly removes.
Acid concentrate: protect yourself
At pH 2.0–3.0 this is an acid cleaner, so wear acid-resistant gloves and goggles and keep the concentrate off skin and out of eyes. Keep it off aluminum, galvanized and other acid-sensitive metals and natural stone, and never mix it with alkaline or chlorine products; rinse with water between steps. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Beer Line Cleaner, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
Product, use, and procurement
How often should beer lines be cleaned?
Many bars clean their lines on a regular schedule; follow your equipment maker's recommendation. A common pattern is an alkaline cleaner for yeast, protein, and biofilm, with this acid cleaner when beerstone or scale shows up.
How do I know the line is rinsed?
Test the rinse water with pH strips; once it reads neutral like tap water, reconnect the beer.
How fast can we get samples and a first order?
Free samples ship in 3–5 days. MOQ is 500 bottles, and production is scheduled once packaging and labels are approved.
Product usage questions
How do I use it?
Dilute to 2% (about 2.5 oz per gallon), fill the lines with a cleaning pump or bottle, let them sit 15–20 minutes, drain, and flush with water until pH test strips read neutral. If you also run an alkaline clean that day, do it first and rinse before the acid step.
When shouldn't I use it?
It's an acid concentrate (pH 2.0–3.0): wear acid-resistant gloves and eye protection, keep it off aluminum, galvanized and other acid-sensitive metals and natural stone, never mix it with alkaline or chlorine products, and use an alkaline cleaner first for yeast, protein, and biofilm.
How often should I clean draft lines?
Follow your equipment maker's schedule; use this cleaner when beerstone or scale appears or as the acid step after an alkaline clean. For homebrew gear, clean after use and descale as needed.
Should I remove the faucets?
Yes. Soak and brush faucets separately, then rinse them with the lines.
Can I use it on homebrew fermenters?
Yes. When stainless or food-grade plastic fermenters show scale or beerstone, soak at 2%, then rinse; remove organic residue with an alkaline cleaner first.
Do I still need an alkaline clean?
Yes. Alkaline cleaners mainly remove yeast, protein, and biofilm; this acid cleaner handles beerstone and scale. Run them as separate steps with a water rinse between, never mixed.
What cleaning pump should I use?
A hand-pump bottle or electric pump both work; size it to your line length.
Will beer taste off after cleaning?
Not once rinsed to neutral; pour a little first to check before serving.
Can I use it on cooling coils?
Yes. Fill, let it sit, and rinse like the lines.
How do I handle a spill of concentrate?
Wear acid-resistant gloves and dilute with plenty of water; don't use chlorine or alkaline products on it, and flush skin or eyes with water immediately if splashed.
How long should I leave beer line cleaner in the lines?
Let it sit 15–20 minutes, then drain and flush with water. That gives the 2% solution time to dissolve beerstone and scale on the line walls before you rinse. Keep flushing until pH test strips read neutral, then pour a little beer to check the taste before serving.
How much beer line cleaner do I mix with water?
Mix it to 2%, about 2.5 oz per gallon of water. Fill the lines at that strength with a hand-pump bottle or an electric cleaning pump. Wear acid-resistant gloves and eye protection while you mix.
