CleenU product solution
Electric Kettle Descaler
Food-grade citric acid · Pre-measured packets · Private label
White scale on the kettle floor and flakes floating in your tea water? Empty one packet in, fill to max, boil, let it sit 15–20 minutes, pour out, and boil clean water once or twice. Pre-measured packets, factory-direct private label.
- Calcium and magnesium in tap water drop out as calcium carbonate when boiled, building up on the floor and heating plate until the kettle boils slower and flakes float in your water. This descaler turns calcium carbonate into soluble calcium citrate with food-grade citric acid; boiling speeds it up, and a clean boil or two finishes the job.
- With loose citric acid or vinegar, most people guess the amount: too little leaves scale, too much wastes product and takes more rinsing. Each packet is measured for a typical 1.5–1.8 L kettle. Keep the exterior and base dry, and don't use it on aluminum.

Before & after
Before and after (illustration)
Before: a six-month-old kettle with white scale on the floor and plate, a rattling boil, and flakes on the water. After: one packet boiled, left 20 minutes, poured out, and two clean boils, the floor is shiny and the boil is quieter.
- Before: scale floor, floating flakes
- One packet, 20 minutes, two clean boils
- Shiny floor, quieter boil

How it works
How kettle scale dissolves
Kettle scale is mostly calcium carbonate with some magnesium carbonate and calcium sulfate. Citric acid's hydrogen ions react with the carbonate to release carbon dioxide bubbles and form soluble calcium citrate, citrate chelates calcium and magnesium so they don't redeposit, and heat speeds the reaction, which is why boil-and-sit clears thick scale faster.

- Sit 15–20 minutes
- Boil clean water 1–2 times

Usage guidance
Use guidance

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Electric Kettle Descaler, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
Product, use, and procurement
Is citric acid descaling safe?
Follow the directions and rinse well, and the kettle is ready for everyday use. Citric acid is a common mild-acid descaler that dissolves mineral scale. After descaling, pour out the solution, rinse the kettle 2–3 times, then boil and discard 1–2 kettles of fresh water.
How often should I descale?
Monthly in hard-water areas, every two to three months with softer water, or whenever the bottom turns white.
How do samples and minimum orders work?
Free samples ship in 3–5 days. MOQ and lead time depend on the spec and packaging, and we confirm both once those are set.
Product usage questions
How do I use it?
Fill the kettle to the max line, add one 15 g packet, boil, let it sit 15–20 minutes, pour out, rinse 2–3 times, then boil and discard 1–2 kettles of fresh water.
When shouldn't I use it?
Not for aluminum kettles; descale coffee makers with a coffee machine descaler on the machine's cycle.
Can I use it on glass kettles?
Yes, glass and stainless both; not aluminum.
Is one packet too much for a small kettle?
Use half a packet under 1 L, or fill to max and use as normal.
Does it remove tea stains?
It lightens light tea stains; for heavy tea buildup, use a percarbonate tea stain cleaner.
Can I use it in a tea maker?
Yes. Glass tea maker pots work the same way.
What if white flakes remain after descaling?
That's loosened scale; pour out and do another clean boil.
Can I use it in a coffee maker?
Use Coffee Machine Descaler and the machine's program.
Can I use it in humidifiers?
Yes. Dissolve half a packet in the tank, soak, and rinse.
Does it smell when boiling?
Citric acid is unscented; there's only a faint tart smell that airs out quickly.
Is kettle descaler harmful if you drink it?
Don't drink the descaling solution. It's made with food-grade citric acid, but the used solution holds dissolved scale and leftover acid. Pour it out, rinse the kettle, and boil and discard fresh water before your next cup. Keep unused packets out of children's reach and follow the label if any is swallowed.
How does limescale build up, and how does the descaler remove it?
Heating hard water drives calcium and magnesium out as solid carbonate, which bakes onto the kettle floor and heating plate. Citric acid dissolves that carbonate and holds the minerals in solution so they pour away. One packet boiled in a full kettle, a 15–20 minute sit, and a thorough rinse clear the white crust.
