CleenU product solution
Steam Iron Descaler
Clears steam vents · No more white flakes · Private label
Weak, sputtering steam and white flakes spitting onto your clothes? Mix 1:4, fill the tank, wait 30 minutes, heat and steam it empty, then flush twice with clean water for full, steady steam again. Private label from 500 bottles.
- Irons and steamers heat water past 100°C, so calcium bicarbonate breaks down into calcium carbonate that deposits in the heating chamber and steam channels. As it thickens, the channels narrow and steam weakens or sputters, and loose flakes shoot out onto clothes as white spots, or yellow ones when mixed with rust.
- Pour the diluted descaler into the tank and let it stand 30 minutes to dissolve scale in the heating chamber; then heat up and steam over a sink or old towel to blow out the dissolved scale with the solution. Finish by filling with clean water and steaming it out twice so nothing is left. Wipe white marks off the soleplate with a cloth dampened in diluted solution.

Before & after
Before and after (use illustration)
Before: a year-old steamer sputters weakly with white scale around the nozzle and occasional flakes. After: a 1:4 descale and two clean-water flushes restore steady, full steam with no flakes (illustrative image).
- Before: weak, sputtering steam, scale around the vents, and white flakes
- After: full, steady steam with no flakes
- Flush twice with clean water before ironing so clothes stay clean

How it works
How Scale Dissolves in the Heating Chamber
Scale in the heating chamber and steam channels is mostly calcium and magnesium carbonate, sometimes with iron oxide. Acid reacts with the carbonates to form soluble salts and carbon dioxide, dissolving the deposit layer by layer, while a corrosion inhibitor adsorbs on aluminum chambers and stainless parts to limit acid attack. Steaming carries the dissolved scale out and clean-water flushes remove what’s left.
- Acid dissolves carbonate
- Releases CO₂ and soluble salts
- Inhibitor protects metal
- Steam flushes out
- Water rinses

Where Steam Iron Descaler stands out
Weak Steam and White Flakes Are Both Scale
Irons and steamers heat water past 100°C, so calcium bicarbonate breaks down into calcium carbonate that deposits in the heating chamber and steam channels. As it thickens, the channels narrow and steam weakens or sputters, and loose flakes shoot out onto clothes as white spots, or yellow ones when mixed with rust.
Soak 30 Minutes, Then Steam It Out
Pour the diluted descaler into the tank and let it stand 30 minutes to dissolve scale in the heating chamber; then heat up and steam over a sink or old towel to blow out the dissolved scale with the solution. Finish by filling with clean water and steaming it out twice so nothing is left. Wipe white marks off the soleplate with a cloth dampened in diluted solution.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Steam Iron Descaler, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
How to use
My iron is spitting white flakes. What do I do?
Scale has built up. Descale at 1:4, steam it out, flush twice with water, and the flakes stop.
Does it work with every iron?
Most, but check the manual; some brands have a self-clean program or prohibit descalers.
How often should I descale?
Every 1 to 2 months in hard water, 3 to 6 months in soft water, or whenever steam weakens.
How do I unclog a steam iron that barely steams?
Weak or no steam usually means scale is blocking the steam channels, and a descaling cycle is the fix. Mix CleenU Steam Iron Descaler 1:4 with water, fill the tank, and let it sit 30 minutes so the acid can dissolve scale in the chamber and vents. Then heat the iron, steam until the tank is empty, and flush twice with clean water. Don't poke the vents with a pin or wire.
Surfaces and common questions
Will it stain clothes afterward?
Not after two clean-water flushes. Test on an old cloth before ironing clothes.
How do I reduce scaling?
Mix distilled or purified water with tap water and empty the tank after each use.
Can I use it in a garment steamer?
Yes. Fill at 1:4, let it stand, steam it out, and flush twice with water.
The water coming out is yellow and cloudy. Is that normal?
Yes—that’s dissolved scale. Steam until the tank is empty, then flush with clean water until it runs clear. If the first rinse is still colored, do another.
Can it remove scorch marks on the soleplate?
No. It treats scale inside the tank and steam channels. Use a soleplate cleaner for scorch marks, and keep the descaler off coated soleplates.
How often should shops and laundries descale steam equipment?
Weekly for steamers and generators in heavy daily use, more often in hard-water areas. Weakening steam is the sign it’s due.
Can I put descaler in a steam generator iron?
Yes, as long as the manual allows it. This descaler is made for the tank and steam path of steam irons, garment steamers, and steam generator irons. Use it at 1:4, let it sit 30 minutes, steam until empty, and flush twice. If your model has its own descaling program or says not to use descalers, follow the manual instead.
Does white vinegar descale an iron?
Vinegar is a weak acid and can loosen some scale, but check your iron's manual first, since some manufacturers say to use nothing but water in the tank. A descaler made for steam appliances is measured for a 1:4 mix, is unscented, and includes a corrosion inhibitor for the metal inside. Whichever you use, flush twice with clean water before ironing clothes.
Buying and private label
What should we decide first for a private-label steam iron descaler?
Three things: measuring bottle or single-dose sachets, whether to partner with iron or steamer brands as an accessory, and your market’s water hardness. It suits single-dose subscriptions and appliance accessories.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (500 mL bottle, 1 L refill, and more), measuring-cup cap, single-dose sachets, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with the Steamer Descaler.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on scaled irons and steamers like the ones your customers handle, and record descaling speed, steam recovery, and effect on aluminum chambers. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. They aren’t posted publicly; we send them per project on inquiry.
How is private-label pricing quoted?
Pricing is tiered by packaging, cap type, label, and order quantity, starting at the 500-bottle MOQ. Send your target quantity, fill size, and packaging needs, and we’ll quote unit prices by volume tier with sample and lead-time details.
