CleenU product solution
Humidifier Cleaner & Descaler
Citric acid descaler · Soak only, never run · Private label
Weak mist and a slimy tank? Unplug, empty, soak at 1:10 for 20–30 minutes, brush the transducer, and rinse at least three times, never running the unit with cleaner inside. Factory-direct private label.
- Tap-water minerals build up day after day, coating the ultrasonic transducer in white crust that dampens vibration and cuts mist output, while slime grows in the base and corners and starts to smell. Citric acid dissolves the scale, surfactants loosen the slime, and a half-hour soak, a brush, and a rinse leave it clean.
- Running the humidifier with cleaner would mist it into the room. Soak and scrub only, rinse three or more times, then refill with plain water. One more thing worth saying: white dust on furniture comes from minerals in tap water, not the machine; the cleaner removes scale inside, while distilled water is what stops the dust.

Before & after
Before and after (illustration)
Before: an ultrasonic humidifier after a winter on tap water, with white crust on the transducer, a slick tank bottom, and noticeably weaker mist. After: soaked 30 minutes at 1:10, brushed, and rinsed three times, the transducer shows bare metal, the tank isn't slick, and the mist is back.
- Before: crusted transducer, slick tank, weak mist
- After soaking, brushing, rinsing: bare metal
- Tank not slick, mist restored

How it works
How humidifier scale dissolves
Humidifier scale is mostly calcium and magnesium carbonate on the transducer and tank walls; the slime is biofilm from microbes on wet surfaces. Citric acid reacts with carbonate to form soluble citrates and carbon dioxide and chelates minerals so they don't redeposit, low-foam surfactants help loosen the film, inhibitors protect metal, and rinse water carries it all away.
- Unplug and empty
- Soak at 1:10
- Citric acid dissolves scale
- Brush transducer and corners
- Rinse at least three times

Usage guidance
Use guidance
- Unplug, empty, and fill the tank and base with a 1:10 mix (about 1.7 oz in 17 oz of water).
- Soak 20–30 minutes, then brush the transducer and corners gently with a soft brush or swab; never scrape the transducer.
- Drain and rinse at least three times, check there's no sour smell, then refill with water. Never run the unit while cleaning.

Product, use, and procurement
Why does my humidifier leave white dust and scale?
Tap water carries calcium and magnesium. An ultrasonic humidifier turns it into mist, the water evaporates, and the minerals settle as white dust; what stays in the machine becomes scale. Scale shrinks the mist output, and the tank and base start growing slime and odor.
Can I run the humidifier with cleaner in it?
No. Never run it with cleaner inside, or you'll be misting cleaner into the room. Soak and scrub only, rinse well, then refill with plain water.
How often should I clean it?
Weekly for daily use, and right away if the transducer turns white or you have hard water. Fresh water every day, never left overnight, cuts scale a lot.
What should we decide first for a private-label humidifier cleaner?
Format, accessories, and timing. A concentrate or premeasured single doses (no measuring), whether to include a tank brush and transducer swab, and stock before fall since winter is peak season.
How fast can we get samples and a first order?
Free samples ship in 3–5 days. MOQ is 500 bottles, and production is scheduled once packaging and labels are approved.
Product usage questions
How do I clean it?
Unplug and empty it, mix 1:10 (about 1.7 oz in 17 oz of water), fill the tank and base, soak 20–30 minutes, brush the transducer and corners, drain, and rinse at least three times.
How do I descale the transducer?
Dab undiluted cleaner on with a cotton swab or soft brush. Never scrape it with anything hard; scratches hurt mist output.
Will there be an odor afterward?
Not if you rinse three or more times. Give the tank a sniff before the first refill.
Will it stop the white dust?
The cleaner removes scale inside the machine. White dust on furniture comes from the water itself; switching to distilled water is what stops it.
Can I use it on an essential oil diffuser?
Yes. Clean the tank and plate the same way, then run once with plain water.
Do I still need to descale with distilled water?
Distilled water cuts scale a lot, but tanks still grow film, so clean regularly.
Can I add it to the water and run the humidifier?
No. Don't mist cleaner into the air; always rinse it out after cleaning.
Can I just use vinegar instead?
You can, but a dedicated descaler is easier to get right. With vinegar you're guessing at strength and soak time, and the smell takes a lot of rinsing. This cleaner uses a set 1:10 dilution and a 20–30 minute soak, and you can dab it undiluted on the transducer. Either way, rinse at least three times and never run the unit with cleaner in it.
How do I get rid of heavy calcium buildup?
Soak twice rather than scrape. Thick scale builds up in layers, and each soak mostly dissolves the surface. After the first 20–30 minute soak, brush off what's loose, mix a fresh 1:10 batch, and soak again. For crust on the transducer, use a cotton swab with undiluted cleaner. Rinse at least three times when you're done.
How do I clean a small desktop humidifier?
Use the same 1:10 mix, just less of it. Pour enough into the tank and water channel to cover the scale, soak 20–30 minutes, and brush with a small soft brush or swab. Keep liquid out of the power port and any vents in the base, then rinse at least three times and let it dry before refilling.
OEM/ODM customization questions
What can we customize?
Strength, fill size (500 mL concentrate, single doses, and more), label design and language, and kits with a tank brush and transducer swabs.
How should we test samples?
Use ultrasonic humidifiers that ran all winter on hard water, and record soak time, how much scale dissolves, mist output afterward, and odor after rinsing. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
What paperwork comes with a private-label order?
Documents such as SDS/MSDS, TDS, COA, and label copy for your target market are prepared per project. We confirm which ones your order includes when we quote.
Launching your own humidifier cleaner?
Send us your market, concentrate or single doses, accessories, and estimated volume. We'll build out product and safety copy with you.
