Leather Upholstery Cleaner & Conditioner
Mildly acidic clean-and-condition · Private label
Light leather armrests gone dark, shiny, and off-color? Spray a microfiber cloth, work in small circles, and buff dry—the color comes back close to original with a soft sheen. Cleans and conditions in one; private label from 500 bottles.
- Leather’s finish is a thin protective film. Body oil slowly works into it and turns dark as it collects dust, while salt from sweat crystallizes and stiffens the hide. As oil builds up, arms and headrests get shiny black patches. Gentle surfactants in this cleaner emulsify the oil so a cloth lifts it, and the mildly acidic system doesn’t strip and stiffen the fibers the way alkaline cleaners do.
- Leather fibers need oils to stay supple, and any cleaning removes some. This formula adds conditioning oils and humectants, leaving a very thin conditioning layer as it cleans, so leather stays soft with a natural sheen instead of feeling dry and squeaky. Regular care slows finish cracking and extends the sofa’s life.

Before & after
Before and after (use illustration)
Before: the front and inside of a beige leather arm are visibly dark and shiny compared with untouched areas. After: wiped in circles with a dampened cloth and buffed dry, the arm is close to its original color with a soft sheen and supple feel.
- Before: dark, shiny armrest fronts clearly off-color from the rest
- After: color close to original with a soft sheen
- Soft, not dried out, and dry in about 10 minutes

How it works
How Leather Gets Clean Without Being Stripped
Leather soil is mostly body oil, sweat salt, and dust. Gentle nonionic surfactants emulsify the oil between cloth and hide and suspend the dust for microfiber to pick up. The mildly acidic system (pH 5.0–6.5) sits close to the range chrome-tanned leather prefers, so the collagen fibers don’t swell or lose their oils. Conditioning oils and humectants form a thin film over the finish to replace lost oils, and a dry buff leaves it soft with a gentle sheen.
- Dampened cloth
- Gentle surfactants emulsify body oil
- Mildly acidic system protects fibers
- Conditioners replenish oil and moisture
- Dry buff

Where Leather Upholstery Cleaner & Conditioner stands out
Shiny Dark Arms Are Body Oil and Sweat in the Finish

As oil builds up, arms and headrests get shiny black patches. Gentle surfactants in this cleaner emulsify the oil so a cloth lifts it, and the mildly acidic system doesn’t strip and stiffen the fibers the way alkaline cleaners do.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Leather Upholstery Cleaner & Conditioner, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
How to use
Can dark sofa arms be cleaned back?
Mostly. The darkening is body oil and dust; two or three circular passes and a buff lighten it noticeably. Where the finish is worn through, color repair is needed.
How do I know if my sofa is suitable?
Put a water drop on a hidden spot. If it beads, it’s finished leather and fine to use; if it soaks in and darkens, it’s aniline or nubuck and not suitable.
Can I use it on car leather seats?
Yes on finished car leather, which most car seats are; test a hidden spot first. Wipe with a dampened cloth, and don't wet perforated seats so liquid doesn't enter the holes.
What's the difference between a leather cleaner and a leather conditioner?
A cleaner removes body oil, sweat, and dust; a conditioner puts oil and moisture back so leather doesn't dry out and crack. This is a two-in-one that does both in one pass for routine care. If the leather is already noticeably dry, follow the cleaning with a separate conditioning pass.
Surfaces and common questions
Can I use it on faux leather?
Yes, for cleaning. PU doesn’t need oils like real leather, so conditioning has limited effect; just buff dry.
How often should I condition?
Every 1 to 3 months for home sofas, monthly for sofas near heaters, vents, or direct sun.
Will it leave the leather sticky?
No. The conditioning film is very thin, and after buffing the leather feels dry and supple.
My leather has fine cracks. Can I still use it?
Yes, with a light touch—don’t scrub the cracks. It will leave the leather softer, but existing cracks won’t close; heavy cracking needs a leather repair specialist.
Can it remove denim dye transfer on light leather?
Recent transfer usually fades; older dye that has soaked into the finish is hard to remove fully. Treat it early—blue on the cloth means it’s lifting.
Can I use it on leather headboards and office chairs?
Yes, on finished smooth leather or PU. Test a small hidden area first; if no color transfers, do the rest. Spray the cloth, not the stitching.
What should you not use to clean leather?
Dish soap strips the leather's oils and dries it out over time; alcohol and disinfecting wipes damage the finish and can leave it pale or faded; olive oil and other cooking oils turn sticky, attract dirt, and can darken the color. Use a mildly acidic leather cleaner and conditioner sprayed onto a cloth.
How do I keep a white leather sofa from yellowing?
Wipe the arms and front seat edges monthly with a leather cleaner and conditioner, since body oil builds up there fastest. Treat dye transfer from dark jeans or bag straps the same day, and keep the sofa out of long, direct sun. Old yellowing takes several gentle rounds, not one hard scrub.
Buying and private label
What should we decide first for a private-label leather upholstery cleaner & conditioner?
Three things: home leather furniture or automotive seats (different aftermarket channels); two-in-one or separate cleaner and conditioner; and linen, leather, or unscented. Leather owners pay a premium for conditioning.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (500 mL spray, 1 L refill, and more), mist or foam trigger, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with microfiber and a protector.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on finished cowhide samples with body oil and sweat soil like the ones your customers handle, and record body-oil removal, feel and sheen after use, and effect on the finish. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. They aren’t posted publicly; we send them per project on inquiry.
How is private-label pricing quoted?
Pricing is tiered by packaging, trigger or cap, label, and order quantity, starting at the 500-bottle MOQ. Send your target quantity, fill size, and packaging needs, and we’ll quote unit prices by volume tier with sample and lead-time details.
