CleenU product solution
Chewing Gum Remover
Gel softens gum · Lifts off with a scraper · Private label
Gum trampled into black spots on mall tile and sidewalks, or a wad stuck to carpet or clothes? Spray it, wait 1–3 minutes until soft, lift from the edge with a plastic scraper, and mist again to wipe off the residue. Citrus-solvent gel, factory-direct private label.
- Gum base is polymers like polyisobutylene and polyvinyl acetate, sticky and elastic, so it gets pressed into tile texture and stretches bigger on carpet and clothes, and water or ordinary cleaners can't touch it. This remover's citrus solvent swells the base so the gum softens and stops sticking, the gel keeps working in place, a plastic scraper lifts it from the edge, and a final mist wipes off the mark.
- Citrus solvent can swell acrylic, PS plastic, and some paints, so don't use it there. Test carpet, upholstery, and clothing in a hidden spot for colorfastness, and launder clothes per the care label afterward. For gum in hair, work a little in, comb it out, shampoo, and keep it away from eyes.

Before & after
Before and after (illustration)
Before: a dozen flattened, blackened gum spots pressed into the tile at a mall entrance. After: each sprayed, left 2 minutes, lifted from the edge with a plastic scraper, and wiped with a final mist, the gum is gone and the tile shows little or no mark.

- Sprayed 2 minutes, scraped from the edge
- Gum gone, marks wiped away

How it works
How gum softens
Gum base is a nonpolar polymer whose solubility parameter is close to citrus solvent (d-limonene), so solvent molecules work between the polymer chains and swell them, cutting elasticity and tack until it becomes a soft, loose mass; thickeners hold the gel on vertical and overhead surfaces, and nonionic surfactants help wipe away the swollen residue and solvent.
- Spray the gum
- Wait 1–3 minutes
- Citrus solvent swells the base
- Scrape from the edge
- Mist and wipe clean

Usage guidance
Use guidance

Where Chewing Gum Remover stands out
Why gum is so hard to remove
Gum base is polymers like polyisobutylene and polyvinyl acetate, sticky and elastic, so it gets pressed into tile texture and stretches bigger on carpet and clothes, and water or ordinary cleaners can't touch it. This remover's citrus solvent swells the base so the gum softens and stops sticking, the gel keeps working in place, a plastic scraper lifts it from the edge, and a final mist wipes off the mark.
Test first, and skip solvent-sensitive surfaces
Citrus solvent can swell acrylic, PS plastic, and some paints, so don't use it there. Test carpet, upholstery, and clothing in a hidden spot for colorfastness, and launder clothes per the care label afterward. For gum in hair, work a little in, comb it out, shampoo, and keep it away from eyes.

Product usage questions
How do I use it?
Coat the gum, wait 1–3 minutes until soft, lift it from the edges with a plastic scraper, then spray a little more and wipe off residue; blot carpet and clothing with a dry cloth.
When shouldn't I use it?
Not for acrylic, polystyrene, or painted finishes; spot-test carpet and clothing first.
Can I get gum off shoe soles?
Yes. Spray, wait, scrape or brush with an old toothbrush, and wipe the sole.
Can I use it on car seats?
Test cloth seats first, then blot the softened gum away; not on leather.
Is it better than freezing?
Freezing works for small, fresh wads; for gum flattened into texture, softening is easier.
How do I handle large sidewalk areas?
Treat and scrape spot by spot, then finish with a pressure washer.
How do I remove gum under desks?
Spray, let it soften, lift with a plastic scraper, and wipe off the residue.
Will carpet show a mark afterward?
Blot the softened gum away and follow with a damp cloth; it usually leaves no mark.
What should I keep in mind when removing gum from hair?
Work a little in, comb it out, shampoo, and keep it away from eyes; stop if irritation occurs.
Can I use it on wood floors?
Test finished wood first, then wipe with a damp cloth and dry.
How does a chewing gum remover get gum off?
It softens the gum so you can lift it instead of chipping at it. Coat the gum, wait 1–3 minutes until it gives, lift it from the edges with a plastic scraper, then spray a little more and wipe away the film. On carpet and clothing, blot with a dry cloth rather than rubbing, and spot-test first.
How do I clean up the sticky residue left after scraping gum?
Spray a little more remover on the residue, let it soften, and wipe it off with a clean cloth. Finish hard surfaces with a damp cloth; on carpet, blot and follow with a damp cloth. Don't use it on acrylic, polystyrene, or painted finishes.
