Outdoor Stone Cleaner & Restorer
Deep restoring · Safe on calcareous stone · Private label
A sandstone patio gone grey-black, its warm color hidden? Wet it, apply at 1:3, keep it wet 15–20 minutes, scrub, and rinse—once dry, the original color and texture return. Alkaline, so it’s safe on limestone; private label from 500 bottles.
- All natural stone is porous, sandstone and limestone especially so. Rain carries soot, exhaust particles, pollen, tannins from rotting leaves, and algae into the pores; the water evaporates, the soil stays, and year after year the color darkens. Surface rinsing only reaches the outermost layer. Deep cleaning needs the solution to sit in the pores long enough to break down organics and disperse particles before scrubbing and plenty of water bring them out.
- Many stone cleaners use acid because it’s fast, but limestone, marble, and calcareous sandstone etch in acid and turn rough, pale, or pitted, and iron minerals in some granites can bleed yellow rust. This alkaline system tackles organic soil and oily binders without reacting with calcium carbonate, so it’s safe on many outdoor stones. Once clean and dry, a stone sealer can slow re-soiling.

Before & after
Before and after (use illustration)
Before: a five-year-old sandstone patio is grey and dark overall, its grain and original warm yellow barely visible. After: the left half, treated at 1:3 for 20 minutes, scrubbed, rinsed, and dried, shows warm natural color and clear grain, in sharp contrast with the untreated right half.
- Before: sandstone gone grey-black, its warm color hidden
- After: warm color and crisp texture once dry
- A clear contrast with the untreated section, and no etching

How it works
How Deep Soil Leaves the Pores
Soil in outdoor stone is organic matter (algae residue, tannins, humus), oily binders from exhaust and soot, and mineral particles. Pre-wetting fills the pores with water so the solution isn’t sucked in and spent at once. Alkaline builders break down and saponify organics and oily binders so particles lose their grip, surfactants disperse and suspend them, and a chelating agent ties up calcium and magnesium so no new deposits form in the pores. Scrubbing and plenty of water flush the loosened soil out.
- Pre-wet to control absorption
- Alkali breaks down organics and oily binders
- Surfactants disperse particles
- Chelator prevents redeposition
- Scrub and flush

Where Outdoor Stone Cleaner & Restorer stands out
Grey, Dark Stone Means Years of Soil in the Pores
All natural stone is porous, sandstone and limestone especially so.
Why Alkali, Not Acid
Many stone cleaners use acid because it’s fast, but limestone, marble, and calcareous sandstone etch in acid and turn rough, pale, or pitted, and iron minerals in some granites can bleed yellow rust. This alkaline system tackles organic soil and oily binders without reacting with calcium carbonate, so it’s safe on many outdoor stones. Once clean and dry, a stone sealer can slow re-soiling.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Find practical answers about Outdoor Stone Cleaner & Restorer, private label, samples, MOQ, documents, and delivery.
How to use
Can grey, dark outdoor stone be restored?
Mostly, yes. The darkening is soil in the pores, and deep cleaning brings the original color back. Stone that is weathering or spalling will only look better, not new.
Can I use it on a limestone patio?
Yes. It contains no acid, so it won’t react with limestone’s calcium carbonate; that’s the main difference from acidic stone cleaners.
How much area does it cover?
At 1:3, 1 L covers about 15 to 20 m²; use neat on heavy soil and expect less coverage.
How do I clean a natural stone patio with it?
Mix 1 part cleaner to 3 parts water, keep the stone wet for 15 to 20 minutes, then scrub and rinse. The alkaline builders and chelating agents need that wet contact time to loosen grime, algae marks, and leaf stains from the pores, so mist again if it starts to dry, and use it straight on heavy soil. Skip hot sun and freezing days, and cover or steer clear of nearby lawn, flower beds, and ponds.
Surfaces and common questions
Why can’t I see the result while it’s wet?
Wet stone always looks darker. Let it dry for 24 hours; the true color and grain show once it’s fully dry.
Should I seal after cleaning?
Recommended. Once clean and dry, a patio sealer reduces water and soil uptake and makes future cleaning easier.
Can I use a pressure washer with it?
For rinsing, yes, but sandstone and limestone are soft, so keep the nozzle back to avoid surface damage.
Can I use it on stone walls and sculptures?
Yes. Apply bottom-up on vertical stone, keep it wet through the dwell, scrub with a soft brush, and rinse top-down. Use a soft brush on carved detail and keep pressure washers at a distance.
Some areas look much lighter after cleaning. Is that normal?
Usually that’s the stone’s real color that grime was hiding. Once the whole area is done and fully dry, it evens out; give darker spots another round.
Will it take off rust stains on the steps?
No. Rust is iron oxide and alkaline cleaners won’t remove it—use a stone rust-stain remover separately, and don’t apply the two products at the same time.
Can I use it on indoor stone countertops or polished marble floors?
No. It's made for outdoor patios, steps, and walls, and polished indoor stone is outside its use range. The long wet dwell, scrubbing, and heavy rinse it relies on don't suit countertops or indoor floors, so use a pH-neutral cleaner made for indoor stone instead.
Buying and private label
What should we decide first for a private-label outdoor stone cleaner & restorer?
Three things: concentrate sizes (1 L, 5 L), home-and-garden retail or stone-care firms and property managers, and whether to pair with the patio sealer as a clean-and-protect system. “Acid-free, safe on calcareous stone” sets it apart.
What are the sample, MOQ, and lead-time terms?
Free samples are usually ready in 3–5 days. Standard MOQ is 500 bottles, and bulk orders are scheduled after packaging and labels are approved.
What can be customized?
All of it: formula direction, scent, fill size (3.78 L jug, 1 L, 5 L, and more), cap and dosing format, label design and language, and ecommerce bundles with the patio sealer and a stiff brush.
Can we test samples first?
Yes, we ship samples first. Test them on weathered, darkened sandstone, granite, and limestone samples like the ones your customers handle, and record pore soil removal, color recovery after drying, and effect on limestone and sandstone surfaces. That tells you more than a before-and-after photo.
Which documents can you provide?
We provide SDS/MSDS, a TDS, and batch COAs, plus bilingual label content for your target market. They aren’t posted publicly; we send them per project on inquiry.
How is private-label pricing quoted?
Pricing is tiered by packaging, cap type, label, and order quantity, starting at the 500-bottle MOQ. Send your target quantity, fill size, and packaging needs, and we’ll quote unit prices by volume tier with sample and lead-time details.
